Tennessee voters have continued to turn out in large numbers during the first four days of early voting. Statewide, a total of 387,933 voters have cast their ballots leading into the fifth day of early voting today. Based on numbers submitted by the counties, only 31 voters statewide have voted with provisional ballots because they showed up at polling locations without federal- or state-issued photo identification. Of those 31 individuals, 16 have already returned with the proper identification and had their ballots counted.
“I am pleased voter turnout remains strong,” said Secretary of State Tre Hargett. “Tennessee voters continue to take advantage of the flexibility and convenience of early voting.”
Early voting will continue through Thursday, Nov. 1. Voters with questions regarding the locations and hours of early voting are encouraged to contact their local election commission offices.
