2/4/2010 On or before this date, all candidates for the office of county road superintendent in a county holding a county primary in May must file their affidavits of qualification with the Tennessee Highway Officials Certification Board. (TCA § 54-7-104) May
2/4/2010 On or before this date, all candidates for the office of county sheriff in a county that will hold its county primary in May must file their affidavits of qualification with the Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission (P.O.S.T.). (TCA § 8-8-102) May
2/18/2010 To qualify for a May primary election held in the county, political party candidates nominated by petition and independent candidates must file their nominating petitions with the Chairperson or Administrator of Elections of the County Election Commission on this day, no later than 12:00 NOON prevailing time. (Candidates for county offices for which no county primary has been called must file their petitions by NOON, April 1, 2010.) (TCA § 2-5-101(a)(2)) May
2/25/2010 Withdrawal deadline for candidates who must have qualified by February 18th. By 12:00 NOON prevailing time on this date, candidates wanting to remove their names from the ballot must file a written request over the candidates’ signature. (TCA § 2-5-204(b)(1)) May
3/15/2010 No later than 12:00 NOON prevailing time on this date, a person who desires to have write-in votes counted in her or her name must file a certification of write-in candidacy in the appropriate jurisdictions. (TCA § 2-8-113(c)) May

4/1/2010 To qualify for federal and state offices, and for county offices for which a primary election was not held, all petitions must be filed no later than 12:00 NOON prevailing time on this date, in the appropriate County Election Commission Office(s) or the office of the Coordinator of Elections. Any duplicate petitions that may be required, as well as the originals, MUST also be filed by this deadline. (TCA § 2-5-101(a)) August, November

4/30/2010 No later than 12:00 NOON prevailing time this date, the candidates, political parties, and citizens' organizations shall submit to the County Election Commission lists of names of poll watchers to serve on election day. (TCA § 2-7-104(a)) May
5/1/2010 Last day for candidates to file the statement of interests with the Bureau of Ethics and Campaign Finance. (TCA § 8-50-501(b)) August

8/19/2010 To qualify for any municipal offices or county offices which will appear on the November ballot, candidates must file their nominating petitions with the appropriate County Election Commission Office on this date, no later than 12:00 NOON prevailing time. (TCA §§ 2-5-101(a) and 5-1-104) November
8/26/2010 Withdrawal deadline for candidates who must have qualified by August 19th. By 12:00 NOON prevailing time on this date, candidates wanting to remove their names from the ballot must file a written request over the candidates’ signature. (TCA § 2-5-204(b)(1)) November
